SEO Traffic Value Calculator

Your organic traffic is worth two numbers: the revenue it generates, and the Google Ads spend you'd need to buy the same clicks. This calculator shows both — the second is what makes the SEO investment case land with a CFO. Updates live as you type.

From GA4 or Search Console — organic sessions / month.

Visitors → customers or qualified leads.

AOV for e-com, or value of a lead for lead-gen.

What you'd pay in Google Ads for these clicks. E-com ~$0.5-2, B2B SaaS ~$3-6.

How this calculator works

Two valuations from the same traffic:

  • Revenue value = visitors × conversion% × value per conversion — the top-line money organic traffic generates each month.
  • PPC-equivalent = visitors × equivalent CPC — what you would pay Google Ads to buy the same number of clicks.

The PPC-equivalent is the number that wins SEO budget arguments. Organic traffic is not "free" — it took content + technical work + links to earn — but once it ranks, the clicks keep coming without per-click cost. Framing it as "we avoid $X/month in recurring media spend" makes the compounding nature of SEO concrete in a way that "we got more traffic" never does.

FAQ

What does "SEO traffic value" actually mean?
Two things, and this calculator shows both. (1) Revenue value — the money your organic visitors generate via conversions. (2) PPC-equivalent value — what you would have to pay Google Ads to buy the same number of clicks at your niche CPC. The second number is the one that makes CFOs understand SEO: it is a recurring cost you are NOT paying because the traffic is organic.
How do I find my average CPC for the PPC-equivalent?
If you run Google Ads, use your actual average CPC. If not, use Google Keyword Planner or a tool like Ahrefs/SEMrush to estimate CPC for your top organic keywords. Rough industry ranges: e-commerce $0.5-2, B2B SaaS $3-6, legal/finance $6-10. The PPC-equivalent value scales directly with this number, so use a defensible figure.
Is the revenue value or the PPC value the "real" number?
Both are real but answer different questions. Revenue value answers "what does organic contribute to the top line?" PPC-equivalent answers "what would it cost to replace this channel with paid?" For an investment case, present both: organic drives $X in revenue AND saves $Y in media spend you would otherwise need to maintain the same traffic.
Does this account for branded vs non-branded traffic?
No — it treats all organic traffic equally. In reality, branded organic traffic (people searching your company name) would convert higher and cost less in PPC, while non-branded traffic is the SEO work that actually expands reach. For a precise picture, run the calculator twice: once for branded and once for non-branded segments from Search Console.
